Academic training and performances
He holds a degree in Agronomic Engineering from the University of São Paulo (1968), a master's degree in Agronomy from the Ohio State University (1971), a PhD in Soils and Plant Nutrition from the University of São Paulo (1975) and a postdoctoral degree at CSIRO, Research Division Forestry, Australia (1982) and the Institute of Ecology and Resource Management, University of Edinburgh, Scotland (1992). He is currently Senior Professor at the Department of Forest Sciences at the University of São Paulo, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal Scientia Forestalis and Scientific Coordinator of the Cooperative Program for Environmental Monitoring in Microbasins at IPEF. He has experience in the area of Forest Resources and Forest Engineering, with emphasis on Watershed Conservation, working mainly on the following topics: management of watersheds, water conservation, hydrological impacts and hydrological sustainability in the management of planted forests.
